Ingredients

Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Filling

- In a bowl, add 200 g of finely chopped spinach.

- Grate 1 small onion and add it to the spinach.
- Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of chili pepper.
- Mix everything together until well combined.
Step 2: Prepare the Dough (if making your own)

- In a large mixing bowl, combine 300 g of flour and 1/2 tsp of salt.
- Gradually add 150 ml of water and 2 tbsp of oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then divide it into 2 equal parts.
- Cover the dough with a cloth to prevent it from drying out.
Step 3: Assemble the Pastries

- Roll out each dough portion thinly on a floured surface.
- Shape each rolled dough into a round circle.

- Spread the spinach and onion filling over one of the rolled doughs.
- Roll out the second piece of dough to the same size and place it over the filling, sealing the edges.
- Cut the pastry into a round shape again, if necessary.
- Use a fork to crimp the edges, sealing in the filling.

Step 4: Cook the Pastries

- Heat plenty of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Carefully place the pastries upside down into the hot oil.
- Cook until both sides are browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.
