Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- ½ Vidalia onion, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ tsp Italian Seasoning
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups Cheddar Cheese, freshly shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces shell macaroni, cooked
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
Cook the pasta shells according to package directions, using a pot of salted water
In a skillet, add the Olive Oil and the the ground beef
SECOND STEP:
Crumble the beef and cook until no longer pink
Add in the salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and the chopped onion
THIRD STEP:
Cook until the onion begins to soften
Drain the excess fat from the skillet
Add the flour and stir until it begins to brown
FOURTH STEP:
Add in the beef broth and the tomato sauce
Stir to blend together
FIFTH STEP:
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and stir constantly until the sauce begins to thicken.
Add the ground beef, onions, the heavy cream and stir together
Add the cooked pasta and stir to combine
SIXTH STEP:
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add in the 1 ½ cups cheese and stir until melted
Serve immediately
