Orange and Vanilla Yogurt Doughnuts

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 70 ml vegetable oil ️
  • 125 g vanilla yogurt
  • ~400 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder ✨
  • Apricot jam (optional, for filling)
  • Coconut flour (for dusting)
  • Additional vegetable oil (for frying) ️

Instructions:

 

1️⃣ Prepare the Dough:

 

Beat the egg with salt, sugar, and orange zest in a bowl.

 

Mix in vegetable oil and yogurt until smooth.

 

Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing to form a soft, non-sticky dough.

 

2️⃣ Shape the Doughnuts:

 

Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness on a floured surface.

 

Use a doughnut cutter or two round cutters to create shapes.

 

3️⃣ Fry the Doughnuts:

 

Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).

 

Fry doughnuts in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.

 

Drain excess oil on paper towels.

 

4️⃣ Fill and Dust (Optional):

 

Pipe apricot jam into the doughnuts, if desired.

 

Dust with coconut flour for added sweetness and texture.

 

5️⃣ Serve:

Let cool slightly and enjoy warm or at room temperature. These doughnuts are irresistibly soft and flavorful!
