Moist Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
For the sponge cake:
3 eggs
½ cup vegetable oil (120 ml)
1 cup sugar (200 g)
1 ½ cups milk (360 ml)
2 cups wheat flour (240 g)
1 cup chocolate powder (100% unsweetened cocoa or baking powder)
1 teaspoon baking powder (5 g)
1 pinch of salt
For the filling:
1 cup fresh strawberries, washed and sliced
200 ml whipping cream
100 g dark or milk chocolate
1 tablespoon butter
For the chocolate frosting:
200 g baking chocolate (semisweet or milk)
200 ml whipping cream
1 tablespoon butter (for (shine)
Preparation Instructions:
1. Prepare the cake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a blender or mixer, first add the liquids: eggs, milk, oil, and sugar. Blend for a few minutes.
Add the flour, hot chocolate powder, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and lump-free.
Finally, add the baking powder and mix gently with a spatula or pulse until combined.
Pour into a greased and floured pan and bake for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool completely and cut the cake into two layers for filling.
2. Chocolate and strawberry cream filling:
Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a double boiler or microwave (for 30 seconds, then 10 seconds more if necessary).
Let it cool and add the cold whipping cream, whisking until slightly thickened.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes before using.
3. Filling the cake:
Place the first cake layer on a baking sheet.
Cover with a generous layer of chocolate cream.
Place the strawberry slices all over the cake.
Carefully add the second cake layer.
4. Chocolate frosting:
Heat the whipping cream and pour it over the chopped chocolate.
Add the butter and let it sit for 1 minute. Mix well until a shiny, creamy ganache forms.
Pour over the assembled cake, allowing it to drip naturally over the edges.
Final decoration (optional):
Decorate the top with fresh strawberries, chocolate shavings, or grated chocolate.
You can also use a piping bag with a little whipped ganache to make rosettes.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the filling to set.
