Mediterranean Chocolate Date Balls

Ingredients

1 cup pitted Medjool dates

1/2 cup almonds (or walnuts)

1/4 cup pistachios

2 tbsp honey or pure maple syrup

1 tbsp olive oil or coconut oil

1/2 tsp cinnamon

A pinch of sea salt

1 cup milk chocolate or dark chocolate (for coating)

Instructions

Prepare the Base
Place the pitted dates, almonds, pistachios, honey, olive oil, cinnamon, and salt into a food processor. Blend until the mixture turns sticky and holds together when pressed.

Form the Balls
Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls using your hands. If the mixture feels too sticky, chill it for 10 minutes before rolling.

Melt the Chocolate
In a heat-safe bowl, melt the chocolate over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or microwave it in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

Coat the Balls
Dip each date ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Place them on parchment paper or a tray.

Set and Chill
Let the coated balls rest in the refrigerator for about 30–40 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.

Serve
Enjoy these Mediterranean-inspired chocolate bites as a sweet, energizing snack or dessert.

Notes

These treats are naturally sweet from the dates and get their Mediterranean flavor from nuts, olive oil, and cinnamon. You can also add a bit of orange zest or shredded coconut for extra aroma.
