Grilled Chicken Skewers with Homemade Tzatziki Dip

Juicy marinated chicken skewers grilled to perfection and paired with a cool, creamy tzatziki dip – this dish is perfect for BBQs, family dinners, or light summer meals.


Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the Chicken Skewers:

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) boneless chicken breast or thighs

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp lemon juice

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp ground cumin (optional, for extra depth)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Wooden or metal skewers

For the Tzatziki Dip:

  • 1 cup (250g) Greek yogurt

  • ½ cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (or mint), finely chopped

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized cubes.

  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add chicken and coat well.

  4. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour (up to overnight for best flavor).


Step 2: Prepare the Tzatziki Dip

  1. Grate cucumber, squeeze out liquid using a clean towel.

  2. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper.

  3. Mix well, cover, and chill until serving.

Step 3: Grill the Chicken

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. Thread chicken pieces onto skewers.

  4. Remove and let rest for 2 minutes.
