Ingredients
- 1/2 onion, grated or pureed (keep the liquid from the onion)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon miso paste or gochujang
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted and cooled
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Preparation
- In a microwave-safe bowl combine the prepped onion, garlic, ginger, and miso paste, whisking to combine.
- Add in soy sauce, sugar, and sesame seeds, whisk again to combine.
- Microwave the sauce for 30 to 40 seconds, or until the sugar dissolves.
- Finally add in the sesame oil (if using).
- You can use the sauce immediately or you can transfer it to a glass container and refrigerate it until you’re ready to use it.
