Green Smoothie with Banana
This recipe combines the creaminess of a banana with the nutritional power of leafy greens. It’s a great way to start your day or have as a quick, healthy snack.

Ingredients
- 1 large ripe banana, preferably frozen
- 1 large handful of fresh spinach or kale
- 1/2 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, soy, or oat)
- 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt or a plant-based alternative
- 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- A few ice cubes (if not using a frozen banana)
- Optional add-ins: 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, flax seeds, or a scoop of protein powder
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: If you’re not using a frozen banana, slice a fresh one and set it aside.
- Combine the ingredients: Place the spinach or kale in the blender first. This helps it get a smoother blend.
- Add the liquids and solids: Next, add the banana, milk, and yogurt to the blender.
- Sweeten (if desired): If you’re using a sweetener, add the honey or maple syrup now.
- Blend: Secure the lid and blend on high until the smoothie is completely smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a little more milk. If it’s too thin, add a few more ice cubes or a bit more frozen banana.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into a tall glass. Garnish with a banana slice on the rim, as shown in the picture, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
