Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the gravy:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and egg until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add mushrooms and onion. Cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and onions, stir to combine, and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.
- Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
