Golden Sunrise Quiche with Ham and Creamy Hollandaise Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 deep dish style frozen 9 inch pie crust
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup half & half
- 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar
- 3 Tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp snipped chives
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
- 5 ounces ham or Canadian bacon, cut into small dice
- Hollandaise Sauce:
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Lightly spray a pie plate. Whisk eggs with half & half until well combined. Stir in cheeses, onions, chives, ham, salt, and pepper.
- Optionally, remove the frozen crust from its original tin and place it on a baking sheet for easier handling. Pour the egg mixture into the crust, ensuring an even spread.
- Bake for about 50 minutes or until the quiche is golden brown and set in the middle. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
- For the hollandaise sauce: Blend egg yolks, lemon juice, and mustard. While blending, slowly add melted butter until the sauce thickens. If necessary, thin with warm water. Season with salt.
