Golden Sunrise Quiche with Ham and Creamy Hollandaise Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 deep dish style frozen 9 inch pie crust
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar
  • 3 Tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp snipped chives
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • 5 ounces ham or Canadian bacon, cut into small dice
  • Hollandaise Sauce:
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly spray a pie plate. Whisk eggs with half & half until well combined. Stir in cheeses, onions, chives, ham, salt, and pepper.
  • Optionally, remove the frozen crust from its original tin and place it on a baking sheet for easier handling. Pour the egg mixture into the crust, ensuring an even spread.
  • Bake for about 50 minutes or until the quiche is golden brown and set in the middle. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
  • For the hollandaise sauce: Blend egg yolks, lemon juice, and mustard. While blending, slowly add melted butter until the sauce thickens. If necessary, thin with warm water. Season with salt.
