Delicious Strawberry Milkshake
Yields: 1 serving Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- 2 scoops (about 1 cup) vanilla ice cream (you can also use strawberry ice cream for an extra burst of flavor)
- ½ cup milk (whole milk, 2%, or even a plant-based milk like oat or almond work well)
- 1 tablespoon sugar or honey (optional, adjust to your preference depending on the sweetness of your strawberries)
- Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- Fresh strawberry, sliced, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, wash and hull them. If they are large, you might want to roughly chop them. Frozen strawberries can be used directly.
- Combine ingredients: In a blender, add the strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and milk.
- Sweeten (optional): If your strawberries aren’t very sweet or if you prefer a sweeter milkshake, add the sugar or honey.
- Blend until smooth: Blend the ingredients until the milkshake is smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a couple of times to ensure everything is well incorporated.
- Adjust consistency: If the milkshake is too thick, add a little more milk, one tablespoon at a time, and blend again until you reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, add a little more ice cream and blend briefly.
- Pour and garnish: Pour the milkshake into a tall glass. If desired, top with whipped cream and a slice of fresh strawberry.
- Serve immediately: Enjoy your delicious homemade strawberry milkshake right away!
Tips and Variations:
- For a thicker milkshake, use more ice cream or fewer strawberries/milk.
- For a thinner milkshake, use more milk or fewer strawberries/ice cream.
- Add a few drops of vanilla extract for an enhanced flavor.
- For a chocolatey twist, add a tablespoon of chocolate syrup or cocoa powder.
- Get creative with toppings! Sprinkles, chocolate shavings, or a drizzle of strawberry sauce would be lovely.
- If you’re using frozen strawberries, you might need to blend for a bit longer to get a smooth consistency.
Enjoy making and sipping on this delightful treat! Let me know if you have any other questions.
