Ingredients:
7 ounces (200 grams) of heavy cream
2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
Salt to taste (optional)
For the Filling:
500 grams (17.6 oz) of ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
A small amount of oil for sautéing
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream and all-purpose flour. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
-
Knead the mixture with your hands until the dough becomes smooth and no longer sticky. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour until you reach the right consistency.
Wrap the dough in plastic and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
2. Roll Out the Dough:
-
On a floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll out the dough until it is very thin.
-
Cut the dough into your desired shape and size using a knife or pastry cutter.
3. Prepare the Filling:
-
Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat.
-
Sauté the chopped onion until it becomes translucent.
-
Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
-
Add the ground beef, cooking it until it’s well browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked and well-seasoned. Allow the filling to cool before assembling the pastries.
4. Assemble the Pastries:
-
Place a spoonful of the ground beef filling in the center of each dough piece.
-
Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together with a fork to seal them securely.
5. Fry the Pastries:
-
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer.
-
Fry the pastries until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
-
Remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
