Total: ~45 minutes

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or sausage

  • ½ cup chopped onion

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)

  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning or 1 tsp Italian seasoning (for pizza style)

  • ½ cup salsa or pizza sauce (depending on theme)

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

For the Dough:

  • 2 cans crescent roll dough (8 oz each), or homemade crescent dough

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • 1 tbsp dried herbs (basil, oregano, or parsley)

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional topping)

‍ Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onions until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa (or pizza sauce) and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.

  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  • Stir in the shredded cheese.

2. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).

  • Lightly grease a round pizza pan or pie dish.

3. Assemble the Crescent Ring

  • Open the crescent dough and separate into triangles.

  • Arrange them in a circle on the baking dish with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the points facing outward, forming a sun-like ring.

4. Fill the Ring

  • Spoon the cooled meat and cheese mixture evenly along the base of the dough ring (where it overlaps in the center).

  • Gently fold the pointed ends of the triangles over the filling and tuck them under the dough in the center.

  • This will form a stuffed ring with some filling peeking out.

5. Top and Bake

  • Brush the ring with beaten egg for shine.

  • Sprinkle with dried herbs, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese if using.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.

6. Cool & Serve

  • Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

  • Serve with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or marinara sauce on the side.
