Ingredients:
– 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
– 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions (step-by-step):
1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
2. While the air fryer is preheating, pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
4. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken thighs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
5. Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side down, making sure they are not overlapping.
6. Cook the chicken thighs at 400°F (200°C) for 12 minutes.
7. After 12 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the chicken thighs. Brush barbecue sauce generously over the top of the thighs.
8. Continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
9. Carefully remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
