Ingredients
For the Hamburger Steaks

1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg
-
¼ cup milk
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp vegetable oil
For the Gravy

2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
2 cups beef broth
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp dried thyme

Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven

Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Hamburger Steaks

In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

Mix gently until just combined.

Form into 4–5 oval patties.
3. Sear the Patties

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Sear patties 2–3 minutes per side until browned.

Transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
4. Make the Gravy

In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

Stir in flour; cook 1–2 minutes to form a roux.

Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth.

Add Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.
5. Bake

Pour gravy over patties in the baking dish.

Cover with foil and bake 30–35 minutes, until cooked through and tender.
6. Serve

Spoon extra gravy over each steak.
