Twisted Doughnuts (Donuts)

Ingredients:
– 1 cup of milk

– 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast

– 1/3 cup of granulated sugar

– 2 eggs, beaten

– 1/2 cup of melted butter

– 4 cups of all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon of salt

– Oil for frying

Directions:
1. Heat the milk until warm, then add the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix well.
3. Pour in the yeast mixture and knead the dough until smooth. Cover and let it rise for about an hour.
4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into donut shapes using a donut cutter or two differently sized biscuit cutters.
5. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F (190°C).
6. Fry the donuts in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
7. Allow the donuts to cool slightly before twisting them into fun shapes.
8. Serve the twisted doughnuts warm and enjoy!
Tips:
– You can dust the twisted doughnuts with powdered sugar or glaze them with a simple sugar glaze for extra sweetness.
– Be sure to twist the doughnuts while they are still warm and pliable for the best results.
