- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bell peppers, diced
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked beef. Cook until the onions are translucent.
- Stir in the diced bell peppers and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until they begin to soften.
- Add the cooked rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
