Frozen Mango Chunks 1 cup (about 150g) Using frozen fruit is key for a thick, cold smoothie without adding ice which can water it down.
Frozen Strawberries cup (about 75g) You can adjust the ratio of mango to strawberry to your taste.
Liquid (Milk or Water) – 1 cup (120-240 mL) Use milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, oat, or coconut) for a creamier texture, or water for a lighter one. Start with cup and add more as needed.
Yogurt (Optional) cup (120g) Greek yogurt adds protein and extra creaminess; plain yogurt is also good. Omit for a dairy-free/vegan option, or use a plant-based yogurt.
Chia Seeds 1 to 2 tablespoons This creates the black specks seen in the image and adds fiber and Omega-3s.
Sweetener (Optional) 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon Use honey, maple syrup, agave, or a pitted date if your fruit is not sweet enough.
Fresh Mango Chunks & Strawberry As needed For garnish.

 

Instructions

 

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the liquid (milk/water), frozen mango, frozen strawberries, yogurt (if using), chia seeds, and optional sweetener into a high-speed blender.
    • Tip: Placing the liquid in first helps the blender blades catch the frozen fruit better.
  2. Blend: Secure the lid and blend on low speed to start, gradually increasing to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
    • Adjust Consistency: If the blender is struggling or the smoothie is too thick, stop and add more liquid (milk or water), 1-2 tablespoons at a time, until it blends smoothly.
    • If you prefer a thicker smoothie, blend for a shorter time or use less liquid initially.
  3. Pour and Garnish: Pour the finished smoothie into a glass. The chia seeds will be visible as the small black specks throughout the smoothie.
  4. Serve: Garnish the top with fresh-cut mango chunks and a whole or sliced strawberry, similar to the image. Serve immediately and enjoy!
