Strawberry Hard Serve Ice Cream

Ingredients:
– 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1/4 cup lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
Directions:
1. Start by adding your beautiful sliced strawberries to a medium bowl and sprinkle them with granulated sugar. Let them hang out and get all juicy for about 30 minutes. This helps to bring out their lovely flavors!
2. Once the strawberries have released their sweet juices, toss them into a blender. Add the vanilla extract and lemon juice, then blend until smooth. This berry goodness is going to be the heart of your ice cream!
3. In another large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and whole milk until they’re well combined. You want that lovely creamy base for your ice cream.
4. Pour the strawberry puree into the cream mixture and stir gently until everything is just combined. If you’re feeling adventurous, fold in those poppy seeds for a fun crunch!
5. Now it’s time to churn! Pour your mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches that dreamy soft-serve consistency.
6. Transfer your creamy creation into an airtight container and pop it in the freezer. Let it freeze for at least 4 hours or until it’s firm and ready to scoop.
7. Scoop out servings of this luscious strawberry ice cream, and enjoy the taste of summer in every bite!
