Steak Fajitas Recipe – Steak fajitas make a quick and easy meal perfect for weeknight suppers or weekend celebrations! Made with beef, peppers, onions and served with a stack of warm tortillas and condiments. They are always a favorite!
Ingredients for steak fajitas:
- ▢2 pounds skirt, flank, sirloin, or hanger steak , sliced into 1/2 inch strips
- ▢1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced into thin strips
- ▢1 bell pepper, deseeded and sliced into thin strips
- ▢1 medium onion, peeled and sliced into thin strips
- ▢3 tablespoons olive oil
- ▢1 tablespoon lime juice
- ▢1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- ▢1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ▢pinch cayenne pepper
- ▢1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- ▢1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ▢2 cloves garlic, minced
- ▢6-8 tortillas, warmed

Optional garnish:

Directions for steak fajitas:
Put the meat in a bag that can be sealed. Put the onion and peppers in a different, airtight bag. To a jar with a screw-top or tight-fitting lid, add the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and garlic. Shake until thoroughly mixed.
Reserve the remaining marinade in the container for use when preparing the steak fajitas. Pour one-third of the marinade over the meat and another-third over the vegetables. Tightly seal the bags and place them in the refrigerator for an hour or overnight.
Heat a big skillet over medium-high heat when you’re ready to cook. After adding the vegetables to the skillet, heat for approximately five minutes, or until they are just crisp-tender. Steak strips are added to the same skillet after the vegetables have been taken out and placed on a platter.
Return the vegetables and the marinade to the skillet once the steak has cooked through, which should take 7 to 10 minutes. Serve with warm tortillas and any garnishes you choose.
