Soft Vanilla Milk Bread

Yield: 1 loaf (10–12 slices)
Ingredients:
- 
1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C) 
- 
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet) 
- 
¼ cup granulated sugar 
- 
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted 
- 
1 large egg 
- 
1 tsp salt 
- 
4 cups all-purpose flour 
 Directions:
- 
In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. 
- 
Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well. 
- 
Gradually add flour until dough forms. 
- 
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. 
- 
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled. 
- 
Punch down, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan. 
- 
Cover and rise again for 30 minutes. 
- 
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped. 
- 
Cool, slice, and enjoy! Optional: brush with butter for a soft crust. 
Tips:
- 
Use warm, not hot milk to activate yeast. 
- 
Add vanilla sugar/extract for stronger vanilla flavor. 
- 
Top with sesame seeds, oats, or sugar crystals before baking.
