This Steak and Potatoes Skillet is a hearty and satisfying meal that’s perfect for a quick dinner. With tender steak bites, crispy roasted potatoes, and flavorful garlic and onions, it’s a balanced dish that comes together in no time.

Ingredients:

    • 1 lb (450g) steak (such as sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized pieces
    • 1 lb (450g) baby potatoes, halved or quartered depending on size
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved potatoes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread the potatoes out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.
  2. Sear the Steak Bites: While the potatoes are roasting, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the steak bites in a single layer. Do this in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. Sear the steak bites for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. Cook the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Combine and Serve: Add the roasted potatoes to the skillet with the onions and garlic, stirring to combine. Return the steak bites to the skillet, tossing everything together to ensure the steak and potatoes are well mixed. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
