Creamy Pineapple Smoothie with Milk & Yogurt
This refreshing and healthy smoothie is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or a light dessert. The combination of sweet pineapple, creamy milk, and tangy yogurt creates a perfectly balanced flavor and a smooth, luxurious texture.
Yields: 1 serving Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks (using frozen pineapple helps achieve a thick, cold smoothie without needing ice, which can dilute the flavor)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, soy, or coconut milk for a vegan option)
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt (Greek yogurt for a thicker, protein-rich smoothie, or regular plain yogurt)
- 1-2 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or other preferred sweetener (optional, adjust to your sweetness preference and the sweetness of your pineapple)
- A pinch of vanilla extract (optional, enhances the sweetness)
- Small pineapple wedge or chunks for garnish (optional)
Equipment:
- Blender
Instructions:
- Combine Ingredients: Add the frozen pineapple chunks, milk, plain yogurt, and optional sweetener (honey/maple syrup) and vanilla extract to your blender.
- Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high speed until all ingredients are completely combined and the smoothie is smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a tablespoon or two more milk until it reaches your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, add a few more frozen pineapple chunks.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if desired. You can add more sweetener or a squeeze of lime juice if you want a little more tang.
- Pour and Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass.
- Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a small pineapple wedge on the rim of the glass or a few small pineapple chunks on top, as shown in the image, for an extra touch of freshness.
- Enjoy Immediately: Serve and enjoy your delicious pineapple smoothie immediately for the best taste and texture.
Tips & Variations:
- For a Thicker Smoothie: Use more frozen pineapple or a less liquidy yogurt (like Greek yogurt).
- For a Thinner Smoothie: Add a little more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
- Boost of Protein: Add a scoop of your favorite vanilla or unflavored protein powder.
- Add Healthy Fats: Include 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or flax seeds for extra fiber and omega-3s.
- Tropical Twist: Add a small piece of ripe banana for extra creaminess and natural sweetness. A small amount of shredded coconut can also enhance the tropical flavor.
- Ginger Kick: A small piece of fresh ginger can add a zesty, warming note.
- Spice It Up: A tiny pinch of turmeric can add a lovely color and health benefits.
- Make it Green: Add a handful of spinach. You won’t taste it, but it adds nutrients!
- Sweetener Alternatives: Dates (pitted), agave nectar, or stevia can also be used as sweeteners.
Enjoy your homemade Pineapple Smoothie!
