Mediterranean Tomato Basil Garlic Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 baguette (or Italian bread), sliced lengthwise
3 medium ripe tomatoes, finely chopped (Roma or vine-ripened work best)
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
½ tsp dried oregano
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 cup mozzarella or feta cheese, shredded or crumbled (optional for a cheesy version)
Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
Prepare Bread Base
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
Make Tomato Basil Mixture
In a bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Stir well and let sit for 5–10 minutes so the flavors blend.
Assemble Garlic Bread
Spoon the tomato-basil mixture evenly over the bread halves.
If using cheese, sprinkle mozzarella or feta on top.
Bake
Place in the oven for 10–12 minutes, until bread is toasted and cheese (if used) is melted.
Serve
Remove from oven, slice into pieces, and drizzle lightly with balsamic glaze (optional).
