Lemon Ginger Turmeric Detox Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 lemons (sliced)

  • 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root (peeled and sliced)

  • 1-2 cups of water

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (or 1-2 inches of fresh turmeric root if available)

  • Honey to taste (optional)

  • A pinch of black pepper (helps in absorption of curcumin from turmeric)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients:

    • Slice the lemons and ginger.

    • If using fresh turmeric, slice it too.

  2. Boil:

    • In a saucepan, add 2 cups of water.

    • Add the sliced ginger, turmeric (powder or fresh), and lemon slices.

    • Add a pinch of black pepper.

    • Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.

  3. Strain and Serve:

    • Remove from heat.

    • Strain the tea into a mug or glass.

    • Add honey if desired (do this when the drink has cooled slightly to preserve honey’s nutrients).

  4. Optional Cold Version:

    • Let the tea cool completely.

    • Pour into a glass with some ice.

    • Add fresh lemon juice if you want a stronger citrus flavor.
