1f370 Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. Mix dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add wet ingredients:
Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
4. Add hot water:
Slowly pour in the hot water and stir until the batter is silky and thin — this gives the cake its extra moist texture.
5. Bake:
Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Cool completely:
Let the cakes rest in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them and allow to cool on a wire rack.
7. Prepare the frosting:
Beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, and vanilla. Gradually add cream until smooth and fluffy.
8. Assemble:
Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous amount of frosting on top. Add the second layer and frost the top and sides.
9. Chill & serve:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving for clean, beautiful slices.
