Homemade Soft Bread Rolls

Ingredients:
– 4 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
– 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
– ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 egg (for dough)
– 1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, sugar, salt, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Mix in the flour gradually until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Cover the rolls and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
8. Brush the rolls with the egg wash and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
9. Serve warm and enjoy your homemade soft bread rolls!
Tips:
– Make sure the milk is at the right temperature to activate the yeast.
– Don’t skip the rising times, as they are crucial for the texture of the rolls.
– You can customize the toppings of the rolls with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or even a sprinkle of cheese before baking.
