Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

100g (3.5 oz) dark chocolate, chopped

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt
Optional Toppings:

Chocolate shavings (as in the photo)

Chocolate chips or chunks
-
Crushed nuts or cookie pieces
Instructions:

Heat the Base:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.

Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth.

Add the chopped dark chocolate and stir constantly until melted and smooth (do not boil).

Add Cream and Vanilla:

Remove from heat.

Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until very cold (overnight is best).

Churn:

Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker.

Churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually about 20–25 minutes).

Freeze:

Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container.

Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Serve:

Scoop into bowls and top with chocolate shavings or your favorite mix-ins.
