1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 tablespoon hot sauce

Instructions:

Combine dry ingredients: In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt.

Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and hot sauce.
Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
