
Ingredients (1 large mug cake)
4 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil (or melted butter)
1 tbsp chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
1 tbsp chopped walnuts (optional)
1 tbsp Nutella or chocolate spread (for lava center)
For garnish (optional):
Extra chocolate chips
Chopped walnuts
Caramel drizzle
Instructions
Mix dry ingredients: In a large, microwave-safe mug, whisk together flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add wet ingredients: Stir in milk and oil until smooth.
Add chocolate: Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Create lava center: Drop 1 tbsp Nutella or chocolate spread in the center and push it slightly down.
Microwave: Cook for 1–1½ minutes (depending on your microwave). The top should look set but still soft in the middle.
Top it off: Sprinkle more chocolate chips and walnuts on top. Drizzle with caramel if desired.
