Crispy Chicken Tacos with White Sauce

Ingredients

 

For the Crispy Chicken:

 

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying

For the White Sauce:

 

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembly:

 

  • 8 small tortillas (flour or corn)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 slices cheese (cut into strips for decoration)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

 

Instructions

 

1️⃣ Prepare the Crispy Chicken:

 

1. In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

 

2. In another bowl, whisk the egg and buttermilk together.

 

3. Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

 

4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy (about 4-5 minutes per side). Drain on a paper towel.

 

2️⃣ Make the White Sauce:

 

1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, hot sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well until smooth.

 

3️⃣ Assemble the Tacos:

 

1. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.

 

2. Lay a bed of shredded lettuce on each tortilla.

3. Place crispy chicken pieces on top.

 

4. Drizzle with the prepared white sauce.

 

5. Decorate with cheese slices and garnish with fresh cilantro.
