Cheesy Stuffed Meatloaf Recipe
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for stuffing)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Cooking spray or a little oil for greasing
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix everything until well combined but don’t overmix.
Shape the Meatloaf: On a baking sheet or in a loaf pan, spread half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape.
Add Cheese Layer: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the meat layer.
Top with Remaining Meat: Carefully cover the cheese layer with the remaining meat mixture, pressing to seal the edges and form a loaf.
Add Topping: Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for a nice glaze.
Bake: Place in the oven and bake for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Rest: Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold together.
Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving for a fresh touch.
