Introduction
Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are warm, fluffy, and packed with gooey cheese and savory garlic butter. Perfect as a side dish for pasta, soups, or just for snacking, these breadsticks are guaranteed to disappear quickly at any gathering!
Ingredients
For the Dough:
2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)
2 tsp sugar
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
For the Garlic Butter:
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
For the Topping:
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add olive oil and yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead for 5–7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Breadsticks:
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 9×13 inches). Place on a greased baking sheet or pizza pan.
Add Garlic Butter & Cheese:
Mix melted butter with minced garlic and parsley. Brush over the dough.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly on top.
Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
Cut & Serve:
Let cool slightly, then slice into breadsticks. Serve warm with marinara sauce or ranch for dipping.
Notes & Tips
You can use store-bought pizza dough to save time.
For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the garlic butter.
Use a blend of cheeses (mozzarella, cheddar, provolone) for more cheesy goodness.
