Banana Caramel Cream Dessert

Ingredients:
For the Caramel Sauce:
1 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
1/2 cup heavy cream
Pinch of salt
For the Banana Layer:
4 ripe bananas, sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Cream Layer:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
For Assembly:
Crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafer cookies (optional)
Additional banana slices for garnish
Directions:
Make the Caramel Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a deep amber color. Add the cubed butter and stir until melted. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking continuously until smooth. Add a pinch of salt and set aside to cool.
Prepare the Bananas: In a medium bowl, toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning. Set aside.
Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
Combine Cream Cheese and Whipped Cream: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream until well combined.
Layer the Dessert: In a serving dish or individual cups, start by adding a layer of banana slices, then drizzle with caramel sauce. Follow with a layer of the cream mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cream layer on top.
Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set. Before serving, drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top and garnish with banana slices and crushed graham crackers or cookies if desired.
