Discover the Rich Flavors of Our Creamy Bacon Chicken Delight!

Discover the Rich Flavors of Our Creamy Bacon Chicken Delight!

A rich and flavorful dinner that’s both easy enough for a weekday and appetizing enough for guests is this creamy bacon chicken recipe. In roughly half an hour, it will be ready! I probably don’t need to convince you, but chicken tastes wonderful with cream and bacon! Even my spouse, who despises cream, felt it was delicious. The chicken melts in your mouth after being pan-fried till the outside is golden brown.

    Ingredients:

    • 6 strips bacon cut into small pieces
    • 2 large chicken breasts cut in half lengthwise

    Flour for dredging

    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Pepper to taste
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
    1. Add the bacon to a skillet after cutting it up (I do this quickly by using kitchen shears). Fry it for ten minutes or until crispy over medium-high heat. Remove the bacon from the pan and place it aside when it’s done. About two tablespoons of the bacon fat should remain in the pan. Prepare your chicken in the meantime by halving it lengthwise to create four smaller cutlets. Coat them in the flour after adding the pepper and garlic powder.
    2. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook it in the remaining bacon fat over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes/side or until it’s golden. If it starts to splatter a lot, reduce the heat. Once the chicken is browned, take it out of the pan and set it aside.
    3. Add the chicken broth, lemon juice, and butter to the pan. Let it bubble until it’s reduced by half (about 3-4 minutes).
    4. Stir in the cream and once it starts to bubble, add the chicken and bacon back into the pan. Cook for another 5 minutes or so until the chicken is fully cooked through and the sauce has reduced to your liking

    Enjoy!

  • Butter Bars From Scratch

    Butter Bars From Scratch

    Ingredients:

    Crust

2 ½ cups all purpose flour
    1 ½ cups granulated sugar
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    ½ teaspoon salt
    2 large eggs
3/4 cup butter at room temp
    Filling:
8 oz cream cheese at room temp
    3 large eggs
    4 cups powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Préparations:

Place the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, and eggs in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on low just until a dough is formed. Line a 9×13 baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray or just spray your pan directly with a good coating of cooking spray and leave out the foil part. (The foil makes it easier to remove the bars all at once and get nice clean cuts but it isn’t necessary).
Pat dough into bottom of prepared pan and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, place cream cheese and beat until smooth and creamy. Add 3 eggs, vanilla, and powdered sugar and beat until well combined and smooth with no lumps. Pour over crust in pan.
Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown. You’ll have to rely on them looking nice and golden rather than the traditional toothpick test as these are supposed to stay a little gooey in the middle. Allow to cool completely before cutting so the top layer can set a bit.

    Notes

Hint: These are delicious warm but just not as pretty when you cut them that way. I suggest eating one warm and then letting the rest cool – but you didn’t hear that from me!

1/ Put the two and a half donuts in the glass of the thermomix and grind 5 seconds at speed 8.

4/ When finished, pour into the glasses or containers and let cool. Garnish with pieces of the half donut that we had reserved.

5/ If you do not have a thermomix, we will do it like this. Chop the donuts with a knife or with the mixer. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix very well. Heat in a saucepan over low heat, constantly stirring until we notice that it has thickened a little. Pour into the containers and cool.

6/ Put the doughnuts in the glass and grind them.

    Ingredients

    For the Churros:

    • 1 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 large egg
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Vegetable oil, for frying

    For the Coating:

    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

    For Dipping (Optional):

    • Melted chocolate or hot chocolate for dipping

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Make the Churro Dough

    1. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, sugar, salt, and butter. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture begins to boil.
    2. Add the Flour: Reduce heat to low, then add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
    3. Cool the Dough: Remove the pan from the heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
    4. Add Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the cooled dough. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and the egg is fully incorporated. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.

    Step 2: Prepare for Frying

    1. Heat the Oil: In a deep saucepan or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer if possible to ensure the right temperature.
    2. Prepare the Piping Bag: Spoon the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. This tip gives churros their signature ridges.

Step 3: Pipe and Fry the Churros

    1. Pipe the Dough: Carefully pipe 4-5 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, using scissors or a knife to cut the dough at the tip of the piping bag.
    2. Fry the Churros: Fry a few churros at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
    3. Drain Excess Oil: Use a slotted spoon to remove the churros from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 4: Coat the Churros in Sugar

    1. Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon (if using).
    2. Coat the Churros: While the churros are still warm, roll them in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Step 5: Serve with Chocolate Dip (Optional)

    1. Prepare the Chocolate Dip: Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth. If you prefer, serve with a thick hot chocolate.
    2. Serve: Place the churros on a serving plate, and serve with the chocolate dip on the side for dunking.

    Tips for Perfect Churros

    1. Control the Oil Temperature: Keeping the oil at the right temperature is essential. If it’s too hot, the churros will brown quickly but remain raw inside; if too cool, they’ll absorb too much oil.
    2. Rest the Dough: Allowing the dough to cool slightly before adding the egg prevents it from scrambling, ensuring a smooth dough.
    3. Use a Star Piping Tip: A star tip creates ridges that help the churros cook evenly and absorb the sugar coating better.
    4. Eat Fresh: Churros are best enjoyed fresh, as they tend to lose their crispiness over time.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Serve churros warm with a side of chocolate sauce, caramel, or even dulce de leche for dipping.
    • For a unique twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the top or add a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

    Storage and Reheating

    • Storage: If you have leftover churros, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
    • Reheating: Reheat churros in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes to regain their crispiness.

    2. Once the butter has melted and the mixture begins to bubble, reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and starts to pull away from the sides of the saucepan (about 2-3 minutes).
    3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the dough cool slightly for a few minutes.
    4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. The dough may look like it’s separating, but keep stirring until each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. After adding all the eggs, the dough should be smooth and shiny.
    5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip, or simply use a spoon to place dollops of dough on the prepared baking sheet. Each pastry ball should be about 1 inch in diameter.

Step 3: Bake the Pastry Balls

    1. Bake the pastry balls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown. Avoid opening the oven door during the baking process, as this can cause them to deflate.
    2. Once baked, remove them from the oven and pierce a small hole in each pastry with a toothpick to release steam. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 4: Prepare the Cream Filling

    1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cold heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
    2. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip, as the cream could turn grainy.
    3. Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag with a small tip for easy filling.

Step 5: Prepare the Berry Mixture

    1. If using large strawberries, slice them into small pieces. For a sweeter berry filling, toss the berries with sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl. This will enhance the flavor of the berries and add a slight tang to the filling.
    2. Gently mix and let sit for a few minutes until the berries release some of their natural juices.

Step 6: Fill the Pastry Balls

    1. Using a sharp knife, slice each pastry ball in half or cut a small slit to create an opening.
    2. Pipe a generous amount of whipped cream into the center of each pastry.
    3. Add a spoonful of the berry mixture into the center of the cream, pressing gently to ensure they stay in place.
    4. Place the top of the pastry back on or leave the opening slightly open to showcase the filling.

    Step 7: Garnish and Serve

    1. Dust the tops of the filled pastry balls with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
    2. Arrange them on a serving platter, and add extra berries or mint leaves for garnish if desired.

Tips for the Perfect Pastry Balls

    • Keep the Ingredients Cold: When making whipped cream, use cold heavy cream and chill your bowl and whisk attachment if possible. This will help the cream whip faster and create a better texture.
    • Adjust the Sweetness: You can adjust the sweetness of the whipped cream and berry filling to your taste. For a less sweet option, reduce the powdered sugar or skip the sugar in the berry mixture.
    • Experiment with Fillings: This recipe is versatile—try adding a dollop of lemon curd or chocolate ganache to the cream for a twist on the classic filling.

    Serving Suggestions

These pastry balls are best enjoyed fresh, as the whipped cream filling can cause the pastry to soften if left for too long. Serve them as an elegant dessert after dinner or as a luxurious addition to a brunch spread.

    Storage

If you have leftovers (although they’re so delicious, it’s hard to believe you will!), store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. The pastry may lose some of its crispness, but they’ll still taste delightful.

They’re not only delicious but also easy to handle and enjoy in one bite, making them the ultimate finger food for parties and gatherings. Let’s dive into how to create these irresistible mini cheese balls.

    Ingredients:

To make about 20 mini cheese balls, you’ll need:

    For the Cheese Mixture:

    • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, finely crumbled
    • 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped (optional for a mild onion flavor)
    • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    For the Coating:

    • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, finely crumbled (separate from the bacon in the mixture)
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup fresh chives, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, finely chopped (optional, for added crunch)

    Optional Garnish:

    • Mini pretzel sticks or toothpicks (for easy serving)

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Prepare the Cheese Mixture

    1. Soften the Cream Cheese: Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and let it soften at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes. This will make it easier to mix.
    2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions, chives, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
    3. Combine Thoroughly: Use a spoon or a rubber spatula to mix all the ingredients until they’re fully combined and smooth. Be sure the cheddar cheese, bacon, and herbs are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture.

    Step 2: Chill the Mixture

    1. Refrigerate: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Chilling helps firm up the cheese mixture, making it easier to roll into balls.

Step 3: Prepare the Coating Mixture

    1. Mix the Coating Ingredients: While the cheese mixture is chilling, prepare the coating. In a shallow dish, combine the crumbled bacon, chopped parsley, chives, and chopped nuts (if using).
    2. Set Aside: Keep this mixture ready for rolling the cheese balls once they’re formed.

Step 4: Form the Mini Cheese Balls

    1. Roll into Balls: Once the cheese mixture is firm, remove it from the refrigerator. Using a small spoon or a cookie scoop, take about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your hands to form a small ball.
    2. Coat the Cheese Balls: Roll each cheese ball in the prepared coating mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks. The herbs, bacon, and nuts should cover the surface evenly, giving the cheese balls a beautiful, textured appearance.
    3. Repeat: Continue forming and coating the cheese balls until all the mixture is used. You should have around 20 mini cheese balls.

Step 5: Add Garnish and Serve

    1. Insert Pretzel Sticks or Toothpicks: If you’d like to serve the cheese balls with a little flair and make them easier to pick up, insert mini pretzel sticks or toothpicks into each ball.
    2. Chill Before Serving: For the best flavor and texture, refrigerate the cheese balls for an additional 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the cheese balls to set firmly.
    3. Serve and Enjoy: Arrange the cheese balls on a platter and watch them disappear!

Tips for Making the Best Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls

    • Customize Your Coating: Get creative with your coatings! Besides bacon, parsley, chives, and nuts, you could try rolling the cheese balls in crushed pretzels, crispy fried onions, or even grated Parmesan cheese for added flavor.
    • Make Ahead of Time: These mini cheese balls can be prepared a day ahead. Simply store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Just wait to add the pretzel sticks or toothpicks until right before serving to keep them from getting soggy.
    • Room Temperature vs. Chilled: If you prefer a softer texture, let the cheese balls sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before serving. For a firmer texture, serve them straight from the refrigerator.
    • Try Different Cheeses: While sharp cheddar pairs wonderfully with bacon, feel free to experiment with other cheeses like gouda, pepper jack, or blue cheese for a unique twist.

    • 3-4 lbs chuck roast
    • 1 lb Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into chunks
    • 4 large carrots, peeled and sliced
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 cups beef broth
    • 1 cup red wine (optional)
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Fresh thyme and rosemary sprigs
    • 2 bay leaves

    Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 300°F (150°C). Put the slow cooker on low if you’re using one. Sear the meat. In a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the chuck roast by searing it on all sides. Take out and put aside.

    sauté the Garlic and Onions:

Put the chopped onions in the same saucepan and sauté them until they are tender. Cook for one more minute after adding the garlic.

    Deglaze the pot:

Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot and pour in the red wine. To gradually decrease, let it simmer for a few minutes.

    Add Meat and Vegetables:

Put the carrots and potatoes in the slow cooker or saucepan. Top with the seared meat.

Add Broth and Herbs: Pour in the beef broth, ensuring the liquid covers about half of the meat. Add thyme, rosemary, and bay leaves.

Cook Low and Slow: If using an oven, cover the pot with a lid and cook for 3-4 hours. For a slow cooker, cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and pulls apart easily.

Serve: Remove the bay leaves and herb sprigs. Slice the meat and serve with the vegetables and a generous ladle of the cooking liquid.
