Savory Meatballs with Cheese and Green Pepper Garnish

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup marinara sauce
Directions:

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the cooked meatballs and set aside.
Sauté the Peppers: In the same skillet, add the sliced green bell peppers and sauté until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
Simmer with Sauce: Return the meatballs to the skillet and pour in the marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, occasionally stirring to ensure the meatballs are fully coated and heated through.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and cover the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Transfer the meatballs to a serving bowl and garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve warm with crusty bread or over pasta.
